Clay Blasser, also known as DJ Claymation, is a sound technician, music producer, part time DJ and engineer based out of Saint Augustine, FL. Clay grew up as a bass player and played in genres ranging from Jazz to Reggae to Punk Rock to Christian Rock. It was through this background that he discovered his passion in life was to make and produce good music. He is always searching for ways to make his recordings sound better, his degree from Full Sail University and his 18 years in the music and audio business make it possible. He has worked with larger businesses such as DARP that is based out of Atlanta where he interned and quickly began to run sessions with some of the biggest artists, producers, and influential Engineers including Alex Tumay and Justin Childs. Having made good friends with several producers in his time in Atlanta, Clay continues to mix for artists from all around the country.
Clay Blasser works with many non profits, including STArt Now and their annual music festival STArt the Music, as well as the local music, art, and culture publication Narrow Magazine. He enjoys running sound for local businesses and pop up shows, such as the Music Matters outdoor live music events.
He recently worked with Action News Jax as a board operator and audio engineer which has given him the unique ability to do everything ranging from movie trailers to podcast intros. He is currently most notably known as the producer for the local ST. Augustine news podcast 904 NOW, where he produces all of their daily shows. He is also the resident sound man for the downtown St Augustine music venue The Oak Music Park, where he shows his ability to do sound for all genres of bands including country, punk, gospel, R&B, and rock.
He also serves as a visual consultant for Bagan & Company and is the audio and visual technician for Trinity Parish Church.
Clay’s love for music and sound and his passion for his work come across in every show he does. His ability to collaborate and work well with all musicians is an invaluable asset to his craft.
